‘Bharat’ in place of ‘India’ used in railway minister’s proposal to Union Cabinet

The Indian government's railway ministry proposal to the Union Cabinet has replaced the word "India" with "Bharat" throughout its content, in line with the Narendra Modi administration's preference for the term. This is the first such proposal to use "Bharat" exclusively in place of "India" across all aspects. On Thursday, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that there is no difference between ‘Bharat’ and ‘India’ but in the minds of a few “frustrated people” there is a “competition to dispute the concept of Bharat”.
