P20 Summit - A Special Sanitation Drive for Roads initiated by NDMC
New Delhi :- P20 Summit in Delhi, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has started a weekly Special Sanitation Drive for the main roads and back lanes in New Delhi. The drive focuses on various maintenance tasks such as cleaning and washing footpaths, roads, removing trash, pruning trees, and cleaning drains and bell mouths along with especially maintenance of Fountains & Statues.
During the weekly NDMC Sanitation Drive, which is jointly organized by the various departments of NDMC like public health, horticulture, and civil engineering, the goal is to maintain the aesthetics and enhance the beauty of the city. The various departments took NDMC's Sanitation Circle Numbers -1,5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 to carring out their activities. These activities covered a variety of Lanes and Roads, including Babur Road, Prithavi Raj Lane, Krishnan Menon Marg, K.K. Birla Lane, Aurangzeb Lane, Middle Circle Khan Market, Rajaji Marg, 30 January Marg, Amrita Shergill Marg, College Lane, and Max Muller Marg. During the drive, the Public Health Department is raising awareness about the prohibition on single-use plastics and their detrimental impact on human health as part of its sanitation campaign. Sanitation personnel regularly knock on Store / Shops owners' doors in different markets to inform them about the law against single-use plastics.
Additionally, the prohibited packing materials used in the market area have been seized by the Public Health Department and Sanitation team in view of discouraging use of 'single use plastic' .
With the extraordinary combined efforts of several NDMC departments, this weekly special sanitation drive will run till October 14, 2023 and making the New Delhi area nice, clean, and green.
