The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) have decided to widen the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road to reduce traffic congestion. The 2.8km stretch connects Pimpri Chinchwad municipal limits with PMC and witnesses significant vehicular movement. The PMC will submit project details to the Ministry of Defence for work permission. The existing road is between nine and 11 meters wide, but the proposed plan is to construct two lanes of seven meters each. Local residents are urging authorities to prioritize the work.
