10 newborns die in 24hrs in Bengal's Murshidabad hospital
Ten newborn babies died at Murshidabad Medical College Hospital in West Bengal due to lack of proper facilities and ongoing Public Works Department (PWD) work at Jangipur Sub-Divisional Hospital. The babies, most of whom were underweight and malnourished, were shifted from the SNCU at Jangipur to Murshidabad Medical College. A medical board of renowned doctors has been constituted to investigate the incident and the state health department has promised to prevent such tragedies in the future.
