42nd Edition of IITF 2023- this year the business generated is above 1500 crores

New Delhi :-  42nd edition of the biggest and most popular fair of the country, India International Trade Fair (IITF 2023), the event unfolded against the majestic backdrop of the newly redeveloped Bharat Mandapam Complex. This year's culmination was nothing short of being extraordinary, as the trade fair not only surpassed previous milestones but also introduced groundbreaking initiatives that marked a paradigm shift in the landscape of international trade exhibitions. The whole spirit behind planning and organising the fair was to improve
Milestones Reached Taking the mantra of Hon’ble PM forward, this year’s IITF saw use of technology and digital transactions all over. The tickets were available online. It provided a seamless mechanism for ease of buying tickets. In addition, the tickets also provided link for navigation of the route including the entrance for parking within the Bharat Mandapam. The success of the initiative can be gauged from the fact that a staggering 90% of tickets were purchased online through digital payments. It also ensured that there is no crowding at the Entry gates of IITF and added to visitor experience. The vast expanse of the event stretched over approximately 1,15,000 square meters, setting a new record in terms of area. This was over one and half times of the previous edition. The stalls and movement place were smartly planned with wide pathways between the stalls giving an open look and feel. The circulation area inside the halls was a staggering 70,000 square meters. Add to that the massive pathways outside the halls under canopy and open green areas and you know why the movement of over 150000 visitors in a single day was also hassle-free and comfortable. The total visitors to the Fair surpassed the magic figure of one million. The infrastructure itself was a marvel, featuring a state-of-the-art basement parking facility that accommodated up to 3000 cars, providing not just convenience but also safety and surety to visitors.
. The grand parking within the Bharat Mandapam was used by more than 50,000 vehicles which is unprecedented. The implementation of a world-class traffic management system ensured that the
periphery remained free from congestion, elevating the overall experience for visitors. Complementing this, a meticulously coordinated network of shuttle services further enhanced accessibility, creating a seamless flow to the sprawling trade fairgrounds. The vibrant tapestry of the event was woven together by the participation of over 3500 exhibitors, showcasing a rich diversity of products and services. Sales records were shattered, as the fair became a marketplace where innovative ideas and cutting-edge products found eager patrons. The landscape of financial transactions also witnessed a transformation, with a significant portion occurring through digital modes such as UPI, signalling a progressive shift towards a cashless economy. Even the foreign exhibitors were pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of digital financial infrastructure of the country. The venue itself was not just a backdrop but a symbol of prestige, having recently hosted the G20 Leaders’ Summit in 2023. The introduction of new exhibition halls added a modern touch, providing exhibitors and visitors with modern facilities that embraced the spirit of innovation. A homegrown
navigation app emerged as a beacon of convenience, seamlessly guiding attendees through the expansive fairground. Another good initiative of this Fair was that a dedicated ‘Pick and Drop Point’ was made inside the parking arena of Bharat Mandapam. It allowed people to alight and board in a safe environment and near the fair halls. Not only that, ITPO proactively worked with most popular cab aggregators such as Uber and Ola and integrated these points in their app. This redefined the dynamics of travel coordination, providing a hassle-free experience for visitors.

This Fair will be known within ITPO as an event bringing cultural shift in the organisation. The intent and spirit of ITPO transformed from ‘profit maximisation’ to ‘visitor satisfaction’. The sanitation, security and parking staff was more than doubled to facilitate the visitors and maintain hygiene, security and ease of parking. ITPO introduced specialized zones like the Kids Zone and VR Zone for use free of cost by the visitors. Sanitation is always a big challenge in such mega events. Levels of cleanliness not only depend on the cleaning staff deployed but also on the visitors’ littering
habits. To encourage visitors in managing a clean campus ITPO started a novel initiative of acknowledging and honouring visitors using dust bins and disposing their garbage in an environmentally safe manner. A dedicated team of ITPO officials honoured some guests with chocolates and an expression of gratitude for helping ITPO maintain cleanliness in the campus. The initiative was much appreciated by the citizens at large.
This initiative not only reinforced the importance of a Swachh Bharat but also celebrated the collective responsibility for a pristine environment. As the fair embraced the future, the implementation of 5G network connectivity showcased a commitment to cutting-edge technology, ensuring a seamless digital experience for all attendees. The 42nd edition of the India International Trade Fair transcended expectations, not just in terms of attendance and sales but in its unwavering dedication to innovation and modernization. As the curtains drew to a close on this remarkable edition, anticipation surged for the continued success and evolution of the India International Trade Fair, poised to set new benchmarks in the years to come. ITPO expresses its sincere gratitude to the Exhibitors who made the fair so loved and vibrant, all the visitors who brought happiness to the fair and contributed richly to keep the campus clean, to the Shramjeevis who worked day and night to make the event grand success, to DMRC for helping in sales of tickets and transport of visitors and to Delhi Police for assisting ITPO in the conduct of the fair in such a secure and hassle-free manner.
