'Bharat in our DNA,' says BJP on NCERT panel's recommendation for school textbooks
The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in India has recommended replacing the term 'India' with 'Bharat' in school textbooks. BJP leader Tarun Chugh welcomed the move, stating that 'Bharat' is part of the country's DNA. The recommendation was made by a committee headed by historian CI Issac, who explained that the term 'India' became common only after the establishment of the East India Company.
