New Delhi :- Celebrated 59th Annual Day Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi, with immense enthusiasm, making it an extraordinary attempt at closing the academic year which saw commendable accomplishments on the part of the students and cultural celebrations enriching the ethos of the college. Event commenced with a soulful prayer, following which the Principal, Prof. Harpreet Kaur took to the stage for her welcome address. She expressed her reverence and admiration for the Chief Guest, Honourable Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, S. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, acknowledging that he “embodies the rare fusion of diplomatic excellence, institutional legacy, and human-centric nation-building.” She also spoke about the recognition of the college in various rankings and conferences, focusing on the rapid development of the institution through various ventures conducted within the campus.
The focus of the event was the recognition of merit, where several students were awarded for their dedication and excellence in various fields. Shalini Shankar was declared as “Student of the year” while Kajal Yadav was awarded the “Best All Rounder.” The Prize Committee took over the distribution of prizes to the students for their academic and co-curricular achievements. A curated audio-visual presentation was shown which comprised of the college’s accomplishments, featuring highlights from seminars, conferences, lectures, heritage walks, and cultural events. The programme continued with the release of faculty publications which reflected the institution’s continued commitment to research and scholarly excellence. Additionally, the launch of the Mata Sundri Digital Archives initiative marked a significant step towards preserving the college’s rich institutional legacy through digitization and accessible historical documentation.
Other distinguished guests included S. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Padma Shri Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Chairman of the College, S. Jagdip Singh Kahlon, General Secretary, DSGMC, and governing body members who were duly acknowledged and felicitated. Thereafter, the chief guest addressed the audience emphasizing “annual day is an important moment in the life of an institution since it brings together achievement, reflection and aspiration..
