Indian Red Cross Society organized Awareness programme on prevention of Drug Abuse for adolescents.
New Delhi :-Indian Red Cross Society, Delhi Branch. organized a program on the theme of “Awareness on prevention of Drug Abuse” for Adolescents at Indian School, Sadiq Nagar, New Delhi . Chief guest of the program was -Mrs Sangita Saxena, Vice President -Red Cross Society, Delhi Branch, Smt. Isha Khosla , DM - South West and other members of Indian Red Cross Society, Delhi Branch Shri J P Tomar, Shri B K Prasad, Rtd IAS,  Dr Jitendra arora, Shri R N Singh, IPS and other dignitaries of the Indian schools were also present on the occasion. Activities like Painting competition on the theme of Drug Abuse, Nukkar Natak, Awareness programme on prevention of drug abuse, small videos and ppt were presented in the program.
Smt. Saxena said that many youths are destroying their lives by getting addicted to drugs. It’s very important to sensitize our youth on the subject of drug abuse. Drugs are ruining the lives of our youth and putting their future in a great darkness. Some youths take drug on the pear pressure, some take to make money or earn quick money by selling drugs extra. She said that  in last one year, Delhi police quickly monitoring Cell drugs consumption of in 100 meters of educational institutes and 45 pan shops sealed on the instruction of Lt. Governor.  While initiating this system, Delhi police, in last one year, 15 tons of drugs have been destroyed amounting to Rs. 5000 Crore.  
Ms. Isha Khosla , Secretary, IRCS, Delhi Branch informed that use of drugs is making their lives vulnerable to destruction. Therefore, it becomes very important to raise awareness about it amongst our youth and prevent them. She informed that considering the alarming increase in the spread of drug abuse amongst the youth, Red Cross Society- Delhi Branch launched "Awareness programme on Prevention of Drug Abuse” and conducted Drug Abuse programmes in 252 government and private schools and colleges. A total of 44967 students and 1912 teachers have attended the programme till yet.In the end of the programme a pledged under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to make India Drug Free.
