Tree Ambulance A new step towords conservation by NDMC

New Delhi:- NDMC has launched a Tree Ambulance for providing proper treatment to its area ailing trees for give them lease of life. NDMC area having rich green assets including approximate 1.80 Lakh trees. The Tree Ambulance will be used to treat the ailing trees with infestation of diseases, pests and termites, etc. The hollow trunk of trees shall be provided new lease of life through surgery and treatment by utilizing the vehicle to be used as Tree Ambulance. The procedure of tree surgery starts with removing the infected or hollowed out part, cleaning it with a brush, washing it properly, applying insecticides, fungicides on the infested portion and filling hollow trunk with inert material like foam and covering it with chicken mesh followed by sealing it. 

NDMC has customized an Eco-Friendly - CNG based  Tree Ambulance which is equipped with two water tanks having 750 Ltrs & 250 Ltrs storage capacity and a high pressure pump with jetting hose, having provision for carrying equipments, pesticides, fungicides and insecticides etc. The team will be deployed on Tree Ambulance for checking health of trees and to attend complaints or reports received from field staff related to pest infestation, hollow or drying trees on regular basis for need of treatment, washing of trees on regular basis.  In order to maintain and upkeep of environment of New Delhi area, NDMC  maintaining approximately 1500 acres of green area and 135 Green Avenues, 10 Major Parks,1400 Residential Colony Parks, 50 Roundabouts, 10 departmental Nurseries including 3 Hi- Tech Nurseries, 3 International Relationships Memorial Parks, many Happiness Areas and prestigious Garden like Nehru Park, Lodi Garden, Talkatora Garden and Sanjay Jheel, Children Park - India Gate, Central Parks - Connaught Place, CWG Park, Shanti Path etc.
