NDMC organises Rose Festival from 2nd to 7th March
New Delhi :- NDMC is organizing a 6-Days Rose Festival this year NDMC is going to celebrate the spring season with its blooming tulips, roses and other flowers in the heart of the capital – New Delhi. Now, from 2nd to 7th March, 2024 in the India- Africa Friendship Rose Garden, Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. To celebrate the Spring Season in the New Delhi area, New Delhi Municipal Council is organising a series of events like Tulip festival, Music in the Park, Flower Festival, Rose Festival and Food Festival. Under the Rose Festival, more than 80 varieties of Roses are displayed in the Rose Festival at the Rose Garden like FANTASIA, HASINA, COUNTRY GIRL, FIRST EDITION, HAKUN, BETTY BOP, CHRISTIANDIOR, PINK KNOCKOUT, KALADI, NIGHT-N-DAY GARATHRI, DAILY POST,CYNTHIYA,NOBELTY, HONOR, MANAS, DEEP PURPLE, FIRST RED, EXCELLENCE, GIRIJA, THE PAINTER, INTTERNALLY YOURS, SIGNATURE ,MOODY DREAM, BETTY BOP, CAJUN SPICE, BHIM, BIRSA MUNDA, STARRY NIGHT, HAKUN, LEGACY JUBLEE, NILAM BORI, BRIGHT SMILE, DAILY POST, SABNAM, BONICA, MASCOT, PUSHA MUSKAN, PARIDISE, ARTHUR BELL.
Some are more rose varieties like ARTHUR BELL, DEEP PURPLE, NILAM BORI, FRENCH PERFUME, NILAM BORI, MANAS, FIRST EDITION, BONICA, LOMAN SORBET, JOSH, CABARET, GEMINI, LOVE, CABARET, PINK KNOW OUT, Dr. B.P.PAL, BHIM, FRENCH PERFUME, CHALIS GOLD, TOCADE, Eiffel tower, Teri chandrakala, Raktima rose, Kiss Of Fire, Sugandha Rose, Teri Pratima, Pistal Delight, Raja Surendra Off Nalagarh, command performance, Teri Jagurti, Folklore, Manas, Teri youdha, Teri jluvaa, Teri Mahan, Teri Manhar, Teri Tarun, Teri Dildaar, BUSH Rose Pink and BUSH Rose Red.
The Rose Festival will include a series of events like Painting Competition, Discussion on books, felicitation of winners of photography competition and Expert Talk on Roses. The Rose Garden Walk will also organise to witness the different varieties of roses for the general public and flower lovers. Rose Walk - The Rose walk will be held at India-Africa Friendship Rose Garden, Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri on 02nd March, 2024. An exhibition of the paintings made by the NDMC school students will display for the general public in the Rose Garden. Painting Competition – As many as 300 students of NDMC’s schools will participate in a Painting Competition on the theme of Roses. Felicitation of the competition winners- Under the Rose Festival, NDMC will felicitate the winners of the Tulip photography competition and gardeners of the Tulips. The best judged paintings of the school students will also be recognized and students will be felicitated in the opening ceremony.
Earlier, NDMC in association with India Rose Society organised a Winter Rose Show on 23rd and 24th December, 2023 at India – Africa Friendship Rose Garden in which 70 varieties of Roses, 85 Exhibits in 25 categories by more than 200 participants across the country displayed. To mark the BRICS Summit in 2016, another BRICS Friendship Rose Garden was also developed by the NDMC dedicated to the BRICS Summit in Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi in which 107 varieties of Roses are blooming in the area of 03 acre. NDMC is reaffirming the commitment to enhance New Delhi's beauty and vibrancy through various initiatives, with the tulip, roses and different types of flowers planting project serving as a testament to the council's relentless pursuit of a more aesthetically pleasing and prosperous capital city.
