Union Minister  inaugurated ‘ Khadi India Pavilion’ at the India International Trade Fair – 2023.

New Delhi :- Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is participating in the 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) – 2023 held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 14 to 27 November, 2023. On the theme of 'Vocal for Local', KVIC has displayed a wide range of products of 'New India's New Khadi', which has become a global brand under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in Hall No. 3. Union Minister for MSME,  Shri Narayan Rane inaugurated the Khadi Pavilion on thursday in the august presence of Shri Manoj Kumar, Chairman, KVIC, Shri S.C.L. Das, Secretary, Ministry of MSME and other dignitaries.

In his inaugural address Union Minister Shri Narayan Rane said that the Khadi India Pavilion is prepared on  'Self-reliant India' which is  vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Around  214 stalls have been set up for the participation of Khadi artisans through Khadi institutions, units set up under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and units set up under SFURTI Cluster across the Nation, showcasing the finest handcrafted Khadi and village industries products.

Shri Rane also observed   live demonstration of the indigenous charkha installed in the pavilion, the electrically operated potter's wheel, the process of extracting raw ghani oil,  making of incense sticks and incense sticks made by recycling the flowers used for worship in the temple.

During the inaugural programme, KVIC Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Khadi has become the most trusted brand, which is clearly visible in the products displayed in the Khadi India Pavilion. Under his visionary leadership, Khadi has set new paradigms in the direction of “Swadeshi” and “self-reliance”. He said that India's rich heritage, craftsmanship and handicrafts are being showcased through products manufactured by artisans from different regions of India at the 214 stalls set up in the Khadi India Pavilion. More than 40% of the stalls are allotted to the institutions involved in ‘Khadi’ manufacturing; the remaining stalls display products of Gramodyog, PMEGP and SFURTI units. Shri Kumar further said that the objective of Khadi India Pavilion is to showcase the products manufactured by skilled artisans of the country and also to promote the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s  'Vocal for Local' and self-reliant India. In this pavilion, the artisans of the country have been provided a momentous platform to exhibit   their art. KVIC Chairman appealed   everyone to buy indigenous products so that lakhs of artisans associated with KVIC in rural areas get livelihood opportunities.
