VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital Hosts 7th Convocation Ceremony

New Delhi:- Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) & Safdarjung Hospital successfully conducted its 7th Convocation Ceremony on 22 December Delhi  celebrating the academic accomplishments of graduating undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty students. The ceremony was graced by Smt. Anupriya Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State Government of India, as the Chief Guest. In her address, she congratulated the graduating students and emphasized the pivotal role of public medical institutions in strengthening India’s healthcare system. She urged young doctors to uphold ethical medical practice, compassion, and a strong commitment to serving underserved and marginalized communities.

Guests of Honour included Dr. Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor, GGSIPU and Dr. Sunita Sharma, Director General Health Services. They highlighted the importance of clinical research, academic excellence, innovation, and sustained commitment to quality public healthcare delivery. The convocation was held under the leadership of Dr (Prof.) Sandeep Bansal, Director, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital; Dr (Prof.) Geetika Khanna, Principal, VMMC; and Dr (Prof.) Charu Bamba, Medical Superintendent, Safdarjung Hospital, who conferred degrees upon the graduating students, marking a significant milestone in their professional journey.

Addressing the gathering, Dr (Prof.) Geetika Khanna, Principal, VMMC, congratulated the graduates and stated that the institution takes immense pride in nurturing competent, ethical, and socially responsible medical professionals. She emphasized that the rigorous academic training at VMMC, combined with extensive clinical exposure at Safdarjung Hospital, equips students to meet evolving healthcare challenges and serve society with dedication and integrity. In total, more than 217 postgraduate students, 136 undergraduate students, and 40 super-specialty students were awarded degrees, along with 43 medals awards, in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication.
