WJI organised health checkup camp with the support of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee

New Delhi: Working Journalist of India (WJI) in collaboration with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) organized a free health checkup camp at Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, dedicated to the well-being of journalists—the fourth pillar of democracy—and their families.

A significant number of journalists from Delhi and nearby regions, along with their family members, availed themselves of the camp facilities. Expert doctors, including general physicians, cardiologists, dentists, and physiotherapists, offered consultations. Free medical tests such as blood tests, X-rays, and CT scans were also conducted, enabling participants to monitor their health comprehensively.

Prominent leaders present at the occasion included National General Secretary of WJI Narendra Bhandari, Delhi State President Sandeep Sharma, General Secretary Devendra Tomar, Delhi Incharge Narendra Dhawan, Program Coordinator Devendra Pawar, National Advisor Surendra Verma, Ashok Dhawan, Dharmendra Bhadauria, Ish Malik, Swatantra Bhullar, Prit Pal Singh, Shravan Shukla, Lovely Sharma, Sunil Parihar, Sudhir Saluja, Sundaram ji, Laxman Indoria, Rita Mishra, Mukesh Kumar, Virendra Saini (President, National Journalist Federation Delhi-NCR), Mukesh Madhur, National Secretary Amlesh Raju, along with several other senior officials and veteran journalists.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, Chairman of Guru Harkishan Polyclinic, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, said:

“Journalists play a vital role in society. Their good health is essential not just for journalism for the well-being of the nation The DSGMC will always remain committed to the respect and welfare of journalists

The WJI leadership expressed heartfelt gratitude to the DSGMC and announced that such health camps will be organized regularly to ensure journalists and their families remain in good health, which enables them to fulfill their professional duties

It was also conveyed that although DSGMC President Harmeet Singh Kalka and General Secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon could not attend the camp as they were in Punjab providing relief to flood-affected victims, the committee under their leadership continues to stand firmly with the journalist community.
