The fragile ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas is set to end on Monday. A third swap is expected to happen before the deadline, with Hamas agreeing to release around 50 hostages and Israel releasing around 150 Palestinian prisoners. There are still around 200 hostages in the hands of Hamas. Israel is prepared to grant another day's pause for every 10 hostages released beyond the agreed number. There is extreme domestic pressure on the Benjamin Netanyahu government to prioritize the release of hostages.
