Historic Minimum Wage Hike in Haryana: Labour Delegation Meets CM  Nayab Singh Saini

New Delhi:-  A delegation of various labour organizations, led by the Bhartiya  Mazdoor Sangh, (BMS)  met Haryana CM  Nayab Singh Saini at his Sant Kabir Kutir residence to express gratitude for the historic increase in minimum wages. Delegation, headed by All India Vice President Pawan Kumar, felicitated the Chief Minister with a traditional turban and sweets as a mark of appreciation.  Speaking on the occasion, CM  Saini reiterated that the Haryana government remains committed to safeguarding workers’ rights and enhancing their standard of living.

Pawan Kumar lauded the government’s decision, calling it a landmark move for the labour community. He highlighted that the revised minimum wage for unskilled labourers has been increased to approximately ₹15,220 per month, marking a significant 35% hike. The revision was implemented based on the recommendations of the Minimum Wage Advisory Board’s expert committee. During the meeting, labour representatives also proposed organizing a public felicitation ceremony to honor the decision, to which the Chief Minister responded positively.

Principal Secretary of the Labour Department Rajiv Ranjan described the move as historic, stating that Haryana has become the first state to implement such an increase under the new labour laws. Other dignitaries present at the meeting included Joint Labour Commissioner Paramjit Singh, State President Ashok Kumar, and General Secretary Hawa Singh.
